Park & Ride system in Weymouth .... Great concept, poor delivery. Parking meters don't take notes and won't give change. No way of paying with any other form of payment so if you havnt got right change your stuffed. Demand for service is high yet they run 4 small mini-buses which just can't cope with demand for people returning to car park. Your much better off taking your chances and parking in town, which is a real shame as park & ride schemes do a brilliant job of keeping traffic away from city/town centres. I'll certainly be bringing my car into Weymouth next time.

Hi C,

The Skanska site compound is being returned to farm land and will be given back to the landowner. This site is not proposed to be used as a temporary park & ride.

With regards to temporary park & ride sites during the 2012 Olympic Games I have passed your comments onto the team who are working on this and will ask them to respond to you directly.

Is this correct that the Skanska site that has recently been burnt down is going to be used as a new park and ride facility.

Don't you think this area has had enough to put up with, now a park and ride. This will also make the whole relief road a mockery - the amount of cars that will come and go from that site, which will the clog up the littlemoor road and we will be back to square one again.

I thought the understanding was that once Skanska had finished using the site then it would be returned to the farmer exactly as it was found (a field).

Hi Paul,

The signs at the junction are wrong and will be removed shortly. Originally the speed limit along Littlemoor Road was to have been 40mph to just east of Louviers Road which would have required the signs on Louviers Rd. However it was decided that it would be more appropriate to make the change just west of the junction making the signs on Louviers Rd redundant.

I think that a mistake has been made on the signage at the junction of Littlemoor Rd and Louviers Rd (Preston end). Just before you exit Louviers Rd a sign indicates that the driver is entering a 40mph speed restricted area when in fact it is still a 30mph area. If the driver turns right, to travel towards Preston, he will be breaking the law for quite some time (until he reaches White Horse Hill or Preston Beach Rd). If they turn left they will be breaking the law for a short time until they reach the new 40 mph sign on Littlemoor Rd.

Hi Richard,

The line painting is weather dependant and was unable to be completed last week. The lining team will be on site next week to complete the remaining works.

The speed limit signs at the Louviers Road junction are wrong and will be removed. This should be rectified next week.

The works are substantially complete and the road is free from hold ups from traffic management and large construction activities. We appreciate there are still some areas of work to finish, and also remedial works and landscaping to complete.
