A few people have asked about what the speed limit on the new road will be.
South to north, the speed limits are:
- Southern roundabouts – 30mph
- Manor Roundabout to Littlemoor – 50mph
The slower speed limit on the southern section of road reduced the amount of land needed and also has fewer environmental impacts. Slower vehicles will also produce less noise.
- Littlemoor roundabouts – 40mph
- Littlemoor to Dorchester – 60mph
Littlemoor Road west of the garden centre will be 40mph, other sections of Littlemoor Road will remain 30mph.
The main relief road will not be lit, but the new Littlemoor Road and the roundabout junctions will have lighting.
