Chalk stabilisation near Chapel Lane (large version)

Chalk from the Ridgeway cutting is now being laid as the foundation of the road surface.

A process of stabilising the chalk by binding it chemically will give the new road a solid foundation. It also means that no quarried material has to be brought in from elsewhere for the base of the road.

If the rain keeps off maybe the road will Be completed on time. Lets hope that there are no RTCs on the new road and have they included E-information signs for the road ahead (both ways) if not why not?
