Weekend working

by

Weymouth Relief Road (large version)Skanska have requested permission to work from 8am to 5pm this weekend, Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 October.

The extension of working hours is so that ducting can be put in over Littlemoor Road near Preston and near Somerfield supermarket.

Temporary two-way signals will be required while this work is carried out.

Weather permitting, work will also be continuing over the weekend to install drainage and topsoil road verges on the main relief road site, this means that excavators, dumpers and rollers will moving around the site.

That is great news. What a Christmas present for Weymouth that would be! Good Luck.

The works are progressing well over the whole of the site, but I wondered if you are heading towards a date when it will be open.?

      Hi Geoff,

The main carriageway is most likely to open early next year but we are working hard to see if it can be open in time for Christmas.

The Bincombe junction, parts of Littlemoor Road, Harriers’ Roundabout, Mercery Road link and the park and ride will be completed in spring 2011.
