New aerial images

Ridgeway bridge looking south, Jan 2011 (large version)

The latest batch of aerial images are now available to see on our Flickr account.

As you will be able to see, there is very little left to do on the northern section of the road but the southern section has a lot of finishing works still underway.

I have been following the progress on my blog. Congrats to all as you reach the end of the road!

I was bought up in this area and I congradulate the contractors on what looks to be an excelent job.
I will be visiting Weymouth and Dorchester in a couple of weeks and will be looking at this long awaited project. I remember this being spoken about more than 40 years ago and now the end is in sight.
My only hope is that this will help the traffic problems betweebn Weymout and Dorchester.

Has the weather REALLY played a part? aside from a week or two of snow, the weather has been rather good to us this year in Weymouth.

Seems like the weather is a convenient scapegoat, as everyone remembers the snow, but does not remember the otherwise dry winter we have had.

I agree. Back in december i thought we would have been on the road by now. Although i appreciate the weather played a factor in this, but is there an actual date as to when the road will be open yet?

  5. Mark Says:

Wow, that looks like a considerable amount of work still to do, considering the road is supposed to be opening for traffic very soon….
