Ecotricity are currently given there cards away free and they are building a network of charging points on the Motorways, they are attached too Welecome Break service stations.

I’ve not had any answer to what happens to day visitors.

“The cost of the access card is to cover the setting up of your personal account on the system,”

So once the setting up is completed what is the yearly cost ?
As an owner of a leaf what other charge points are available and what cost is made for the KWH of charge.

    • Weymouth Relief Road Says:

      Hi lockyer

The annual cost of the RFID card which is required to access the Green Motion units is £125 plus VAT. This fee is set by and payable directly to Green Motion (www.green-motion.co.uk).

There are currently no other Green Motion charge points available in the UK.

The Mount Pleasant park & ride units are shortly being upgraded to provide a 16Amp charge which will enable a faster charge of 4-6 hours to fully charge a Nissan LEAF.

  3. Jim Says:

I’m sorry £125 per card per year thats not going to get any one joining the scheme.

Whats going to happen to day visitors, how will they get to use the system?

    • Weymouth Relief Road Says:

      Hi Jim,

The cost of the access card is to cover the setting up of your personal account on the system, administrating your usage over the year and providing you with personal safe and secure access.

If you would like to discuss this further you can contact Green Motion directly at info@green-motion.co.uk or on 0208 354 2555.
