This month is full of activity, on and off the road.

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal is visiting the project on Friday 10 December to mark the construction of the relief road.

On Saturday, members of the project team will be at Littlemoor Community Action Group’s open day, and the charity walk is now scheduled to take place on Sunday 12 December.

The northern section of the main carriageway is finished and the southern section is 85 per cent complete.

Work will be pushing on in the south, and to complete the roundabouts throughout the scheme, in order to get the main road open in January.


Charity walk postponed

Due to the weather forecast,  Sunday’s Weldmar Hospicecare Trust charity walk has been postponed for safety reasons.

Showery rain is forecast for Saturday overnight and road temperatures are expected to fall below zero, which will result in widespread ice. Sunday is predicted to be mainly dry, but cold.

The walk will now take place on Sunday 12 December.

6km for charity

Charity walk route (large version)Weldmar Hospicecare Trust is organising a 6km charity walk of the relief road on Sunday 5 December.

The route will be from the Ridgeway Bridge, Broadmayne Road, along the bridleways to Icen Lane and then returning on the northern section of the new road.

This will be your only opportunity to walk the road before it is opened to traffic!
